Wealthy -The Matriark Podcast

Welcome to WEALTHY The Matriark Podcast, the show helping women build a richer, more fulfilling life. We bring you honest, powerful conversations about everything that touches a woman’s wealth and wellbeing: from money wisdom and mental wellness to career pivots, community, parenting, style, beauty and aging, we explore the forces shaping women’s lives, and how to thrive in the midst of it all. You’ll hear from thought leaders, cultural changemakers, artists, entrepreneurs, doctors, healers, and everyday women with extraordinary insight. Besides our incredibly unique guests, what makes this podcast different is our desire to normalize women talking about money. At the end of every episode, I ask my guests if they talked about it when they were growing up, and how they relate to it today, and it’s been fascinating to hear the responses from everyone. Hosted by Matriark Founder and Creative Consultant Patricia A. Reed, this show is about real talk and real tools for living a richer, fuller, and more grounded life.

Patricia A. Reed sits down with Kristi Lord and Lindsay Droz to chat about their journey as friends, mothers, and entrepreneurs. They talk about everything: how to not ruin your friendship in business, the mental load, how Gwyneth Paltrow has supported them from the beginning, negotiating, wellness routines, and so much more.
In this episode, Kristi and Lindsay mention:
HATCH Alarm clock
The book BREATH: The New Science of a Lost Art
The Carry
Westman Atelier Je Rêve Lipstick

About Our Guests
Kristi Lord and Lindsay Droz are the visionary co-founders of L’AVANT Collective, the elevated home care brand redefining what it means to clean consciously and beautifully. Personal friends turned business partners, Lindsay and Kristi launched L’AVANT with a simple yet radical idea: that non-toxic, plant-based cleaning products could be not only effective but as luxurious and design-forward as your favorite beauty or fragrance brand.
What began with a countertop spray has grown into a full line of high-performance, gorgeously packaged home essentials that prove sustainability and sophistication can go hand in hand. Their products are a staple in modern homes that value both wellness and aesthetics, and their story is one of grit, intention, and entrepreneurial spirit.
In this episode, we talk about how they built their business from the ground up, what it means to launch a mission-driven brand as women, mothers, and friends, and how being an entrepreneur has changed their lives.

Today I’m talking to Ingrid Fetell Lee, designer, author, and founder of Aesthetics of Joy. She’s spent years studying how color, light, shapes, even everyday objects can have a real impact on how we feel. Her book Joyful is one of those reads that makes you see the world differently. Ingrid’s TED Talk has been viewed over 17 million times for good reason: she makes the science of joy deeply human and instantly applicable.

Ingrid has worked with brands like Target and Kate Spade, and her work shows up everywhere from classrooms to corporate offices to public parks. But what I love most is how she makes joy feel accessible. Not something you have to chase, but something you can design into your daily life.
In today’s conversation, we’re going to explore joy as a form of energy and how we can harness it in our daily lives. We’ll discuss how to make workplaces more inspiring and productive, how to design homes that nurture both kids and adults, and how retailers and event organizers can use design to foster connection and even improve sales. And of course, we’ll talk about how joy relates to women’s wealth and wellbeing—because when we feel more vibrant, we show up more powerfully in our work, our relationships, and our financial lives.

Our very first guest is none other than Hall Rockefeller, the fearless founder of Less Than Half, a platform dedicated to amplifying women artists and correcting the still-ridiculous imbalance in representation in museums and wherever art is shown and traded.
Hall and I go deep into discussion on how we value (or undervalue) art, and why we have such a huge lack of representation of women artists everywhere. It’s not just about art, it’s about the state of women everywhere, and it’s a perfect kickoff to what we’re building with this show: honest conversations about what makes women richer in mind, body, and bank account.
